Greetings overnight campers: May 16th/2020
Our camping industry received some good news this week. The Ontario government announced private parks could start to prepare to accommodate customers under seasonal contract. While this doesn’t directly affect you, the overnight guest, we are optimistic of being open for you shortly.
We will have our activities director, Linda Zane, follow up with you in the coming weeks on any changes to the lockdown and what services we can offer. Linda will keep an eye on local attractions such as the farmers’ markets and update her list of activities socially acceptable to today’s environment. In one of those updates, Linda will outline a designated charity week where proceeds will go to the Grand River Hospital in helping with the fight against the virus. If you make a donation to Grand River we will offer you a camping gift certificate of the same amount for use here at Green Acre Park. In addition we will match your donation! After all, we are all in this together. To date we have raised over $100,000.00 from a similar program offered to our seasonals. The date for this program and additional details are not set yet.
So, clean up your RV and get ready to roast some marshmallows! Camping is just around the corner. Hope to see you this summer.
We are a campground that is providing isolation for campers returning to Canada
If you need to Cancel an upcoming reservation due to Covid-19 we will waive the cancellation fee of $20 plus HST.
We understand many campers are desperate to escape the city and go to their trailers. However, the Government is asking for all Canadians to stay home. Please consider the broader impact on your community, as an outbreak can cause serious negative impacts to your local economy.
The Ontario Government strongly urges all businesses to take all necessary precautions to ensure no outbreaks occur in campgrounds.
If you have been outside of the country, you must self-isolate for 14 days.
No common buildings, including washrooms, laundry rooms, office or recreational centres will be open. No access to our playground is allowed. Our swimming pool and hot tubs are closed. Campers must remain on their sites, no social gatherings are permitted until further notice.
Please respect your campsite boundaries and social distancing of six feet/two metres is to be practiced at all times while in the park.
Please bring your own hand sanitizer and disinfecting cleaning supplies.
Please also contact the park to reschedule a visit if any guest has recently had or been exposed to a fever or cough and your cancelation fee will be waived.
